About the Course

Advanced Ultrasound Courses Cracow

The educational project “Advanced Ultrasound Courses Cracow” was created on the basis of long-time interests of its co-organisers in ultrasonography of the female pelvis, with a particular emphasis on prenatal diagnosis. It is the result of years of clinical practice, international training, and a shared belief that competent sonography can only be taught hands-on, on real patients, and within disciplined small groups.

Our courses are designed for physicians who already perform ultrasound examinations on a daily basis and want to deepen their understanding of advanced applications — particularly fetal echocardiography and detailed prenatal anomaly screening — rather than for absolute beginners. We train at a clinical pace, with realistic case material, and under direct supervision of internationally recognised faculty.

What distinguishes “Advanced Ultrasound Courses Cracow”?

  • 01

International faculty. Our courses are conducted by members of the ISUOG International Faculty and recognised clinical experts from leading European and US institutions.

  • 02

Hands-on at the bedside. The format prioritises direct examination of real patients over lecture-based theory; learning happens at the probe, with immediate feedback from instructors.

  • 03

Small groups. A maximum of 5 participants per ultrasound machine guarantees meaningful scanner time for everyone — not a queue.

  • 04

Modern educational tools: the use of fetal heart 3D models, fetal heart VR, phantoms, software that supports the conduction of quizzes (used among others by the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education), and software to review 3D / 4D / STIC images.

  • 05

Industry independence. We collaborate openly with multiple ultrasound manufacturers and distributors, with no exclusivity arrangements.

About Fetal Cardio Cracow

Fetal Cardio Cracow is a three-day intensive course dedicated entirely to fetal echocardiography. The programme covers the sequential segmental approach, B-mode technique, Color & PW Doppler, M-mode, the full spectrum of structural anomalies (left and right heart, conotruncal anomalies, septal defects, aortic arch anomalies), and the diagnostic decision tree for the suspicious fetal heart.

Lectures are interleaved with live fetal heart examinations, conducted by the faculty on consenting patients, with real-time discussion of imaging strategy and clinical interpretation. The third day is dedicated to practical, supervised hands-on classes.

A Word From the Course Directors

Welcome Letter

Dear Colleagues,

It is our genuine pleasure to invite you to Fetal Cardio Cracow 2026 — an international course dedicated entirely to fetal echocardiography. Over the past years this course has evolved into one of the focal points of our educational calendar, bringing together physicians from across Europe and beyond who share our conviction that fetal cardiac diagnosis is, above all, a hands-on craft.

Our intent throughout these three days is simple: to give every participant meaningful time at the probe, on real patients, with direct supervision and immediate feedback. Lectures are kept disciplined and clinically anchored; the most demanding work happens in the scanning rooms and during live examinations.

We are deeply grateful that Prof. Jacek Kołcz — a paediatric cardiac surgeon of international standing — will once again moderate the live fetal heart sessions and share the surgical perspective on the anomalies we discuss. His presence anchors the course in real clinical consequence, where prenatal imaging meets postnatal management.

Whether you are new to fetal echocardiography or an experienced sonographer looking to refine your approach to complex anomalies, we hope you will find these three days worthwhile, demanding, and — above all — useful in your practice on Monday morning.

With warm regards and a clinical handshake,

Prof. Marcin Wiecheć
